Excerpts from an interview:

What inspired you to pursue your craft?
I was creatively inclined since childhood, winning many prizes in painting competitions. One of my paintings was released as a stamp on Children’s Day. However, as a student of economics, mass communication and law, I naturally gravitated towards a corporate job.

But that did not satisfy my creativity. Interior design was something that I enjoyed and followed. While working at the Taj Hotels, I understood that I wanted to pursue a career in interior design. That’s how I quit the job and took to interior design, and there has been no looking back.

What does creativity mean to you?
It is said that the desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. The human mind can create so many beautiful things. Creativity is not just restricted to aesthetically beautiful things that are pleasing to the eye. It can be in any form and in any profession as long as there is joy in creating what one has done. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to make something out of nothing, starting from imagination and translating it into reality.

What do you enjoy most about your craft?
The joy of transforming a completely blank space into a three-dimensional livable place is inexpressible. The creative satisfaction is similar to giving birth to a child. The challenge of creating something new and unique each time from start to finish is what I enjoy most about my craft.

Zoya and me

Moreover, as a product from The House of Tata, Zoya inspires trust and a feeling of genuineness, which is so important while making jewellery investments.
